How to collect your fingerprint, paw print, or nose print 

To personalize your piece as beautifully and accurately as possible, please follow these steps carefully.


Step 1: Prepare the materials

In your kit, you will find:

  • an ink pad
  • a special card for collecting the print

Included in the initial shipment is a return label so that you can send the card back to us once you have completed the process.

Before you begin, ensure that:

  • your hands are clean and dry
  • in the case of a paw or nose, the area is clean and dry


Step 2: Choose what you want to collect

You can use this kit to collect:

  • a fingerprint
  • your dog's paw print
  • your dog's nose print

For fingerprints, the thumb or index finger usually yields the clearest results, but you may use whichever finger you prefer.


Step 3: Press gently onto the ink

Gently press the finger, paw, or nose onto the ink pad for approximately 5 seconds.

There is no need to press hard. The goal is to transfer enough ink to capture the details without using too much.


Step 4: Make the print on the card

Next, press onto the special card.

Try to make the print:

  • firmly
  • straight
  • without dragging

This helps ensure the details are more visible and defined.


Step 5: Repeat several times

Make several attempts on the card, side by side.

Repeat the process until the ink starts to fade.

This is very important, as among several attempts, there is usually one or two with better definition, which helps us achieve a more beautiful and accurate final result.

Step 6: Return the original card to us or scan the document

Once finished, we ask that you send the original physical card back to us, as well as the ink pad, using the return label provided in the initial package.

The original card allows us to analyze the details with much greater precision and ensure the best possible engraving result.

If you prefer to speed up the process, and if you have a printer with a scanner at home, you can scan the card and send us the digital file.


Important:

Scanning with a mobile phone does not guarantee the same level of detail, so whenever possible, we recommend sending the original physical card or a scan made with a scanner.

  • Do not use too much ink
  • Do not drag your finger, paw, or nose when pressing on the card
  • Make several attempts, even if some don't look perfect
  • The more options we have, the higher the probability of achieving a beautiful engraving result
